NetSpective® C-Class
Control applications on your network by stopping undesired traffic
Unauthorized or otherwise undesirable Internet traffic can degrade the performance of your network, expose it to web-based security threats and consume expensive bandwidth that undermines core business and revenue generation. The NetSpective® C-Class solution is a signature-based filtering device that monitors your network traffic and maximizes its capacity by controlling or eliminating unwanted traffic without interfering with legitimate revenue producing Internet traffic required to run a profitable business.
Eliminate Skype™ and Peer-2-Peer in your network
NetSpective C-Class is an intelligent signature-based filtering device that maximizes the performance and security of your converged network by eliminating undesirable web traffic such as Skype and other P2P traffic. Its rack-mounted configuration easily connects to your network, and its filtering and operational controls are easily managed. The web-based interface provides "at-a-glance" status updates and a suite of tools and applications that address every aspect of Internet access control, including compliance with government filtering mandates and communication tracking requirements.
The industry's most intelligent filtering solution
NetSpective C-Class P2P filter gives the service provider the flexibility to customize the Internet applications running through the network. Mission critical applications and quality of service (QoS) are compromised when P2P applications are allowed to pass unchecked.
Extra security through signature-blocking technology
The NetSpective C-Class built-in P2P filter prevents network users from accessing Skype, P2P, IM, and chat applications. Its signature-based blocking technology analyzes the unique protocol signatures of all Internet traffic moving in and out of the network, safeguarding the network against rogue applications that many competitive products would allow to penetrate the network. NetSpective C-Class enables carriers and service providers to comply with the regulatory requirements of CALEA, E911, Sarbanes-Oxley, HIPPA, CIPA and many other government regulations.
The industry's most "intelligent" filtering solution
A filtering solution that misses objectionable content leaves your network at risk, while one that over-blocks can impede users' productivity. NetSpective allows you to filter objectionable content based on more than 60 URL categories, as well as by Internet protocol, including HTTP, FTP and NNTP. Our intelligent filtering approach combines our patented Adaptive Filtering technology with signature-based detection features to control access to both objectionable sites and objectionable traffic, allowing you to not only control which sites users are surfing, but to effectively manage what activity is happening on your network.
Packet-by-packet traffic inspection (SideScan™)
SideScan™ is a firewall independent filtering technology designed to review every packet of information going out to the web (including HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, NNTP, chat, peer-to-peer, streaming media, Skype) and to interrupt connections to websites or file sharing applications that have been blocked. SideScan accurately filters twice as much bandwidth as its leading competitor.
Comprehensive and accurate content review
The NetSpective C-Class Adaptive Filtering feature automatically alerts the NetSpective Adaptive Filtering Lab of unknown Internet content and offers live signature definition updates. The site is subjected to both an automated and manual review process enabling categorization which is followed by an automated distribution process to NetSpective subscribers. This process ensures that all networks shielded with NetSpective are equipped with the most up-to-date information and libraries to protect from security breaches and to enable best-in-class network policies.
A complete view of your network via NetAuditor®
NetSpective C-Class also includes NetAuditor, which monitors and reports on web traffic patterns via a web-based interface. NetAuditor provides a detailed audit of non-essential bandwidth usage making it easy to identify potentially dangerous or otherwise undesirable web activity.
Carrier Grade solution
NetSpective C-Class was engineered to support telecom environments requiring NEBS-3/ETSI certified equipment. This cost-effective, carrier grade solution leverages Intel® technology which makes it a perfect fit for central offices, data centers and other demanding environments with limited space.
A solution with immediate return on investment
NetSpective C-Class creates new revenue opportunities for a carrier or service provider. A carrier or service provider can selectively enable and disable services to their customers, allowing them to generate revenue from applications previously undetected on the network.
